• Impact: PRASSA UK is the only official student-led Plastic Surgery association affiliated with BAPRAS (The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) and PLASTA UK (Plastic Surgery Trainees Association). With a network of 50 student representatives across 40 medical schools, we've become one of the largest student-led surgical associations in the nation.

• Awareness: Our main aim is to increase awareness of plastic surgery among students. Through educational initiatives and advocacy efforts, we aim to dispel myths and misconceptions about plastic surgery, showcasing its breadth and importance in the medical field. Additionally, our research initiatives contribute to a deeper understanding of plastic surgery's role in healthcare, furthering awareness and appreciation among medical students.

• Initiatives: At PRASSA UK, we pride ourselves on our diverse range of initiatives aimed at enriching the educational experience and fostering professional development among our members. From our comprehensive Webinar Teaching Series covering various topics in plastic surgery to our 'Plastic Surgery Around the World' and 'Getting into Plastics' webinars providing insights into global practices and career pathways, we offer invaluable knowledge and practical advice. Our collaboration on the INSPIRE Mentorship Scheme connects aspiring plastic surgeons with experienced consultants. We facilitate pre-medicine placements, host an annual essay competition, and plan to organise our flagship PRASSA National Conference Day in October, alongside regional events nationwide. We partner with orthopaedic surgery societies for joint events and offer kit rental schemes for educational and research purposes. Our ongoing research initiatives broaden the horizons of plastic surgery, contribute to the academic body of work, and provide unique collaboration opportunities. These initiatives are a testament to our commitment to advancing plastic surgery education and promoting the professional growth of aspiring plastic surgeons.
